The energy of this painting seems to spring forth from the dark void in the middle of the almost-but-not-quite- vesica piscis, the sacred geometry of the womb-space. Life pours from void- that infinite potential which has not yet been named. In the beginning there was darkness. We have forgotten collectively that this darkness was also good.
Layers of canyons, constellations, and unique radial perfection of the snowflake- thinner veils than we know separate things we perceive to be so different. The cosmic divide is no division at all.
I paint with the natural ecstasy of pleasure. Cole Porter wrote in 1928 that "Birds do it, bees do it," and Gaia tells me to revel in the beauty that is life. Creative energy is sexual energy is love is life-giving, life-affirming energy. Yes, this piece is simultaneously feminine and ejaculatory. We are here to celebrate.
Maybe other lifetimes or life-forms, but you've been here. You are capable. This is in honor of the cosmos within us all, and the night-travelers, third-eye winkers, who visit these realms, REM cycle through cycle.
I once dreamt that I was stargazing and the sky turned into the ocean. The spirit of Ocean in form of a whale tasked me with protecting life on this earth. This piece was born of Springtime gratitude.
Purely experimental, layers of color and wax and color and wax.
Self-portrait as a mermaid. Sometimes we dive so deep we need two third eyes to see.
